PROGRESS OF PUMPING.

Pumping is proceeding steadily at the Hikurangi Coal Company's mine. The water is being reduced at Iho rale of 2ft. 6in. every 24 hours. Its depth ; n the shaft yestorday was 50ft. 6in.
