A BOY DROWNED.

CAPSIZE OF A CANOE. THIRD FATALITY IN LAKE. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Thursday. Kenneth Fraser Hill, aged 10 years, whose parents reside in Wellington, his father being an engineer in the Pcblic Works Department, but who has lived almost from infancy with his grandmother, Mrs. A. L. D. Fraser, of Hastings, was drowned this afternoon at Haumoana.

Deceased was invited by another boy to take a canoc for a paddle on a lake. Hill did so, but was only a few yards from the shore when the craft capsized. A number of small boys on the bank ran for assistance, but by the time the body was recovered a few minutes later it was too late for efforts at resuscitation to succeed.

This is the third fatality at Haumoana since the New Year.
