INDUCTION OF MINISTER.

NORTHCOTE PRESBYTERIANS*

The induction of the Rev. F. A. Thompson, of Avondale, as minister o , the Presbyterian Church at Northcota took place last evening in the presence o a largo congregation. The Rev. W. 1 mour, moderator, presided. The Rev. S. Elliffe, of Otahuhu, was the preacher, the Rev. S. J. Atkins, o Belmont, addressed the new minister, and the Rev. S. E. Hill, of Ellerslie, addressed the congregation. After the induction Mr. and Mrs* Thompson were tendered a welcome social, the speakers being Mr. A. E. Greeaslade, Mayor of Northcote, Mr. Robertson, on behalf of the session managers and congregation, Mr. R. McGhie, on behalf of tho Sunday School, the Rev. P. J. Wainwright, of Morningside, Mr. T. Hanna, oa behalf of the Takapuna Presbyterians, Mr. Stewart, of Avondale, and Rev. J. HAllen, on behalf of tho Birkenhead and Northcote Methodists. , Mrs. T. D. McNab, in extending-a welcome from the women, presented Mrs« Thompson with a bouquet. , A presentation of a chiming clock w made to Mr. Gilmour in recognition of MS services as interim moderator.
