FAREWELL TO VICAR.
FUNCTION AT NORTHCOTE,
PRESENTATION OF CHEQUE.
A public farewell social to the Eer. Thomas Southworth, who for the past 12 months has filled the office of vicar of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Northcote, was held in the parish hall last evening. There was a large attendance, Mr. H. S. Gribben presiding. Mia Joan Borrows presented Mrs. SonthwoTtli with a beautiful floral bouquet.
Speeches expressing the deep regard entertained for Mr., and Mrs. . Southworth, and appreciation of their in the district, were made by Mrs. A. M. V. Collier, and Messrs. A. Addison, J. J. Browne, C. H. Johnston, and "W. J. Martin. , *,s
The chairman presented Mr. Southworth with an address from parishioners, and Mr. A. E. Greenslade, Mayor of Northcote, handed to him a cheque for £4O, which the public had subscribed aS a mark of their esteem. Mr. Southworth expressed his thanks. An enjoyable musical programme wtt given. ' ■: V
