(Received February f,. 7.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Feb. 6. Tho position in the timber trade dispute in Sydney is unchanged. It is stated that many of tho men are ready to resume work.

A message from Melbourne says further bush mills were? forced to clore yesterday, as the men refused to conform to the conditions of the new award. Five thousand men engaged in the industry and the trades depending upon it are now idle. Steps are being taken to prepare for an extension of the strike to other industries

The Australian Council of Trades Unions has made an appeal to all the I'cdeial unions, as well as to tho State organisations, for funds to conduct the strike*
