A young man whoso narno was suppressed in . tho meantime appeared in tho Police Court to-day charged with tho theft of £B4 8s 9d, tho property of tho Manaia Town Board, by which ho was employed. Tho police asked for a remand to Manaia on February 22, which was granted, In reply to an application for bail Dolectivo Meiklejohn asked for a substantial amount, as othor sums were concerned, involving a considerable amount of money. Counsel: But I understand full restitution has been ma do. **• Detcctivo Meiklejohn: That is so. Bail was fixed in accused's own recocrnisanco of £250 and two sureties of £125 each.
