THE NEW YEAR.
The old tried year is past, Its hopes and fears and tears and smiles, And all that goes to make up life, And oft defeat in daily strife, Tho weary, lagging, futile miles. It all has passed, and lo! the New Dawns on our eyes with mystic light And whispers Boftly, " All is right If you will hold the larger view And only Right and Truth pursue, To live until your soul is white." The year is yours as you decide To make it, noble, sweet and fair, To live and love, to do and dare Till common things are sanctified. —By R. H. Millington. —Sent by Jim Middleton, Buckland.
