THEFT OF RAILWAY TICKET. SEAMAN SENT TO PRISON. Sentence of 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour was passed in the Police Court yesterday, on John Duncan Campbell, aged 45, a seaman, who was charged with stealing a tail way ticket valued at £2 4s 7d. Accused, it was stated, had taken the ticket from anothei seaman in a city hotel He was seen on the Limited express by lh>- owner of the ticket and was arrested by a constable who boarded the trail, and alighted with accused at Remuera Accused's explanation was thai he did not think the oilier man wanted Iho ticket.
