An offer of £SOOO has been made to tha Cook Hospital Board by Mr. John Clark, of Opou Station, Gis'borne, for the purchase of radium to bn used in the treatment of cancer. ■The only stipuation made by the donor is that the treatment shall not be restricted to inmates of the hospital, and that the benefits of treatment shall be available to sufferers among all classes of the community. Mr. Claik has also given £4OO to the St John Ambulance Association toward the fund to purchase a motor ambulance.
