MAN'S LIFE SAVED.
GRAFTON BRIDGE INCIDENT.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE CHARGE.
People walking qcross Grafton Bridge about nine o'clock yesterday morning were startled to seo a man climb on to tho parapet and attempt to jump over. An elderly man rushed to the spot and dragged the man back by his legs, while two others went to his assistance and held the man until a constable arrived. The .incident had a sequel in the Police Court later in. the morning when Albert Lloyd Addison, aged 22, admitted attempting to commit suicide. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said Addison had been out of work for about a year and although little was known about him it was understood he had been in hospital for some time. Ho was single and a machinist by trade.. Accused was' remanded for a week.
