WAIHI FIRE BRIGADE.
ELEVEN MEMBERS RESIGN.
OBJECTION TO APPOINTMENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIIII, Friday. Eleven members of tho Waihi Volunteer Fire Brigade havo resigned. They were requested by the Fire Board to resume duty under the recently-appointed deputysuperintendent, Mr. S. Shergold, against whose appointment they protested by going on strike, or alternatively to hand in their uniforms. Tho members of the brigade concerned met last night and decided to hand in their resignations.
Upon being advised of the decision this morning the chairman of the board, Mr. E. Morgan, accepted the resignations and, after consulting his local colleagues, decided to invito applications to fill the vacancies.
