ENGLAND TO AFRICA.
PROPOSED AIR SERVICE.
ATTITUDE OF BRITAIN.
British Wireless. RUGBY, Dec. 13. Questioned in tho House of Commons to-day about the establishment of an air service between London and South Africa. Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary for Air, said a number of flights had taken place over tho route and to intermediate points. Valuable information had been obtained as a result, but the actual details of the route to bo selected would depend on whether land planes or seaplanes were used on certain parts of the journeyThat could only bo determined when concrete proposals had been formulated. The Secretary of State for Air expected proposals of the kind to bo made in the near future and, if they were considered to be practicable, immediate steps would bo taken, in co-operation with tho Govern ment of South Africa. Tho latter was aware of Britain's intention and desired to develop air communications of that nature.
