A LABOUR ADVOCATE. Australian and N.Z. Presß Association. LONDON, Dec 13. Mr. Ben Tillett. well-known Labour leader, to-day discussed the common tend encv to buy goods from " sweated coun tries." Ho said that a few days ago ho had seen dock workers unloading currants and sultanas from the Levant. He knew the living conditions and -the wages paid to the men and women who cultivated and gathered these products. Mr Tillett said ho had reflected that in tho vicinity similar fruits wero being unloaded from ships from Australia, where tho standard of living was moro La accord with that for which they wero striving. Ho could not help feeling that therein thero was a moral for all Labour people and a seasonable moral too. He appealed to bis fellow-countrymcri for fair play within tho Empire.
