Very few pcoplo soein to bo aware that a good handful of common washing soda dissolved in half a gallon of warm water will make about a hundredweight of coal burn twico as long and with quite as much heat if thrown over tho coal and allowed to get well dried bofore using. Save tho water in which potatoes have boon boiled and uso it for washing silver. It will make spoons and forks bright and remove stains.
