BEACH DRESSES.

MADE FROM DUSTERS. Most mothors find that tho small folk require a frock a day for tho beach when holiday-making, and may bo glad of an idea that Has been found inexpensive, yot practical and attractive. A chic little beach frock can be made from two ordinary chock dusters, which has tho advantago of being so simplo to make that several of theso fascinating little garments may bo " run up " in very liltlo timo. Dusters measuring twenty inches by twenty-two aro a suitablo sizo. To mako the frock, place tho short ends of tho dusters together, and, using a brightly coloured silk or embroidery cotton, join them at tho top by working a simple faggoting st'tch for five and a-half inches, from each edge to the centre. This will form tho shoulders. Down the long sides the stitch is repeated to form the side seams, leaving five inches free from tho shoulders to form tho armholes. Throe inches from tho bottom of each side should be left unstitched. If necessary, tRo neck may be shaped and turned in with a row of the fushionablo cross-stitch, or a double row of short tackihg stitches in tho coloured silk—simplo enough for the little wearer, herself to work. • For a bigger child, two chock ten-cloths can bo made up in the same way us tho

dusters. A bottom hem-may bo turned up, according to the length required, tho stitching used for tho neck being repeated in the hern. Two yards of silk cord, finished with tassels of tho embroidery silk, will form a pretty girdle. A variety of these little frocks worked in different gaily-coloured silks, with girdles to match, will "be sure of a warm welcome in the wardrobe of the small owner.
