Tho gale caused terrible distress in tho colliery town of Blaina, in Monmouthshire, where 46 per cent. o ; f tho employable population arc unemployed. The roofs of 400 houses wero blown off. The homes of 700 people arc therefore uninhabitable. Hundreds of other houses were flooded out. Tho total damage is estimated at £50,000.
