RECONSIDERATION OF PLAN. MAYOR AGAINST PROPOSAL. " You can send a deputation to Wellington, but I shall certainly placo my own views beforo tho Local Government Loans Board," said» 3Lr. S. Donaldson, Mayor of Newmarket, at a meeting of tho Borough Council last evening. Tho remark was mado when it was decided to ask tho Loans Board if it would roceivo a deputation from the council concerning tho application for reconsideration of tho proposal to construct tho new roadway between Morrow Street and Station Street.
Tho Mayor voted against the motion, saying ho would tako fteps to acquaint tho board of his views. Ho was asked if ho would write to tho board as a private resident of tho borough or as Mayor, but ho did not answer.
