A WONDERFUL ACHIEVEMENT IN LIFE ASSURANCE.

Tho seventh annual report and balancesheet presented al. the annual meeting of the Southorn Cro?s Assurance Co., Ltd., held in Melbourne last month revealed big increases in new business and premium income, new and renewal. Notwithstanding tho fact that many businesses had bei?n seriously affected bv the great financial depression experienced in Australia and New Zealand, tho Southern Cross Assurance Co., Ltd., has not only shown increases on previous years, but has extended ils activities. During the year Ihe expenses of management .showed a slight reduction. From its inception, eight years ago, the progress of tho Southern Cross Assurance Co., Ltd., Ins been simply meteoric. In its first year a, record was constituted in that the million mark was exceeded by some thousands, a feat not hitherto accomplished by a life assurance company. Tho next best was seven years, while some companies look 20 to 40 years to reach the million mark. In view of this tho following figures should bo of interest.
