GLEN EDEN.

A successful function was carried out on Tuesday evening, when (ho Glen Eden Labour Party tendered a complimentary reception and dance to Mr. H. G. R. Mason, the member for (he Auckland Suburbs electorate, in the public hall, Glen Eden. The hall was crowded for tho occasion, a large number of visitors being present from Henderson and surrounding districts as well as from Auckland. After a brief introduction by Mr J. H. Hayes, Mr. Mason responded to tho enthusiastic welcome accorded to him Short addresses were also given by Mr. M. J. Savage, MP., Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Macky, the Rev. C. Chandler. Mr. Simpson, and Mr. A. S. Richards. A 500 tournament was held in connection with tho event, (ho winner of the ladies' prize, being Mrs. Lyons, and the winner of the gentlemen's prize, Mr. Leadboater. Refreshments were provided by tho members of tho Labour Party. Dancing continued into the early hours of tho morning before tho meeting broke up.
