FACILITIES FOR TRAVEL.
RAILWAYS AND TOURISTS. Chiefly in order to meet the convenience of tlio pubßc tlio Railway Department hooking service and (ho Government Tourist Blireau will operate under the same roof from Monday next. A large portion of tlio ground floor of the Government Life Insurance building, Queen Street, is at present being converted for the purpose, and good progress is being made. The Railway Department will occupy approximately one-half of the space and tho Tourist Bureau the other half. The two services were combined in Wellington about a year ago, tho oflices being in tho new Dominion building, off Willis Street, and tho experiment lias proved a great success.
Tho walls of tlio new Queen Street office will bo decorated with pictures of New Zealand scenic attractions, heads of deer, and other interesting tourist exhibits. Tho work of moving will bo commenced 011 Saturday afternoon, and it is hoped to open tho now oflices to tho public on Monday morning.
