FAREWELL AFTERNOON.
In perfect weather a most enjoyable afternoon was spent at Ihe Grange, tlio residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hamilton, last Saturday afternoon when the members of the Warkwoi Hi Croquet Club entertained a fellow member, Mrs. Finch, who is leaving the district this week. Several competitions were held on the lawn, the prizes going to Mrs. Finch, Mrs. J. Morrison and Mr. Duke, who handed his to the runner-up, Mrs. S. Smith.
The fringe of native bush made a most picturesque setting for afternoon tea, which was served under the trees. Later Mrs. Hamilton, president of the club, voiced the regrets of tlio members in losing Mrs. Finch, who would bo much missed. Although only with them a few months she had been most helpful, and with her wider knowledge of the game had done much (o assist the club. Following brief speeches from both Mr. and .Airs. Finch, Mr. 1 Inniilion also spoke of t!ie loss to the school occasioned by Mr. Finch's removal t<» Auckland, as advisory inspector to the Hoard of Education. They botli carry with tlicm tlio good wishes of all Warkworlh friends.
