THIEVES RANSACK SHOP.
A TOBACCONIST'S LOSS. THREE VISITS FROM BURGLARS, [BIT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday. The shop of Mr. E. P. Jerman, hairdresser and tobacconist, in Colombo Street North, was entered by burglars last night and a large quantity of goods stolen.
When Mr. Jerman arrived at tbte shop this morning ho found it in a state of confusion. The shelves and . cupboards had been stripped of cigarettes, tobacco and razors and empty boxes vrero scattered about the floor. The goods taken were valued at about £3O.
Mr. Jerman had replenished his stocks only yesterday, and it is the second time within the past few months that his establishment has been visited by burglars. The intruders this time gained entrance to tho shop through a billiard room at the' back of the premises. In August tho shop was robbed of £2O worth of goods, and a fortnight previously Mr. Jerman's homo was thoroughly ransacked.
