WOMAN'S SEVERE INJURIES,

ALLEGED ATTACK WITH CLUB

Alleged to have struck a woman at Maungatawhiri with a wooden club, Donald Sharpe, aged 18, farmer, appeared in the Police Court yesterday charged with assault.

Acting-Chicf-Detcctive Kelly said tho woman, Lily Keith, had been seriously assaulted. She would not bo ablo to appear for time weeks.

By consent, accused was remanded for three weeks. Bail was fixed at £2OO. Accused was ordered to report to the police daily. Sentence of tlireo months' imprisonment was passed on John Unsworth Whewell, aged 24, labourer, who pleaded guilty to failing to comply with tho terms of his release on probation.
