NOTES FROM WALTON.
PROPOSED CHEESE FACTORY.
NEW METHODIST CHURCH. [BY TELEGRAI'H. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MATAMATA. Sunday. A number of settlers of Walton have decided that tho district is now sufficiently advanced to warrant tho erection of a cheese factory, and a public meeting will shortly be called to discuss the proposal with tho New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd. At a social function, organised by tho Walton Rugby Football Club, Messrs. L. E and P. Fausett were presented with watches by Mr. J. Atwood, on behalf of tho residents.
The construction of a new Methodist Church has been completed and the building makes a handsome addition to tho district.
The country has responded wonderfully to treatment in recent years and many farmers have trebled tho carrying capacity of their farms. They say that heavy stocking pays well in the district, provided fertilisers are used as required.
