INSURANCE SCHEME URGED. Following the experience of several of its nurses contracting scarlet fever while attending patients, and those nurses being unable to obtain compensation under tho existing Act, due to tho disease not coming within the definition of an accident, the Hawko's Bay Hospital Board is considering a proposal to insuro its nurses against all diseases. Tho suggestion was made by a member at a recent meeting that the board should establish its own insurance scheme. Tho secretary of tho board is to report on the matter at tho next meeting.
