[BY 'f Ef.EGKAI'H. —OWN CQIMIEST'OK DENT.'] WHANCAItEI. Thursday. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Whangarei, report having held a horse fair at Kumo yesterday. Competition was dull throughout, and about 60' per cent, of tho entries were sold under the hammer, at prices in the buyers*' favour Tliero was a small entry of heavy draughts, and these were dull of salt> Medium-weight draughts were entered in larger numbers, and good sorts of farm horses were in slightly better doniiirid. and sold up to £24. There was a largo entry of hacks, find these met with poor competition. Outstanding sorts made up to £lO, but othei'3 sold at from £2 15s to £5 15a.
