This is one of the most important local projects in recent years, and it is felt that if this area lying between To Ivumi and Hangitiki, and embodying part of tho Oparuro Valley, can be mado fertile, it will result not only in a benefit to those areas, but also to tho town of To Kuiti. Nearly all the land affected is rich soil, and comprises 6000 to 7000 acres, all of which. is suitable for dairy farms of between 50 and 100 acres, and is on the railway lino.
