A SUCCESSFUL JOCKEY.
MUNRO'S FURTHER TRIUMPH. RECORD OF OVER 300 WINS. [from our own correspondent.] SYDNEY. Nov. 15. Tho fact that "Jimmy" Munro, Sydney's horseman, and tho best long-distanco rider in Australia to-day, has added another coveted Melbourne Cup to his big list of triumphs in the saddle, reminds one of his prowess in other directions, Munro, in common with several other of Sydney's leading jockeys,, is frequently on tho golf links, and is quite a good exponent of the game. Motoring, rifle-shooting, and fishing also help young Munro to keep fit and to iill in pleasantly tho hours that are not spent on the track. Bowls also claims its devotees among Sydney's jockeys. George Young, tho New Zealand! jockey, now living in Sydney, is a prominent member of tho Randwick Bowling Club.
Young Munro, who lives with his mother in an aristocratic bungalow, which ho built at Randwick, must bo worth » little fortune to-day, thanks to a good pair of hands, a brain quick to'cum up a situation, a knowledge of paco, tho capacity to ride a vigorous finish, and tho fact that ho always has the choic» of good horses, and lives a clean, orderly life. Munro does not under-estimato his win. on Statesman, but still regards his win on Windbag in a former Melbourne Cup as tho greatest of his turf triumphs, numbering between 300 and 400 since ho was 14.
