VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND.

It is almost certain Johnny Weissmuller, tho famous American sprint swimmer, will visit New Zealand next month. A special meeting of tho Auckland Swim ming C'entro yesterday considered correspondence from the New Zealand Swim ming Council concerning a possible visit from Weissmuller and decided to support the council in extending an invitation to the American swimmer.

'lho centre decided to make an application for a mid week nnd a Saturday afternoon carnival Weissmuller is expected to arrive in Auckland on December 3 and before appearing in Australia, under invitation from the Australian Swimming Union, which made the original negotiations for a visit, he will tour the Dominion for about a month. This will be the first occasion on which he lias left the United States to tour overseas countries, except when lie has represented his country at such important fixtures as the Olympic Games. He is the fastest sprint swimmer in the world and is aptly described as the "human fish." He won the 100rnetres event at the 1924 and Olympiads, while he holds every world's freestyle record from 100 yds. to 300 metres.
