AUCKLAND GUN CLUB.
FORTNIGHTLY SHOOT. Ideal shooting conditions prevailed yesterday, when there was a good attendance of members find friends at the Auckland Gun Club's aroundb. Panmure, where a successful series of matches was held. The first five-bird match resulted in a lie between W. G. I?tie (2Gyds), W. E. Grant (23yds) niul W. Fnirley (21yds), each Betting the possible. The second mutch produced some very fine shooting, no fewer than seven shooters paining the possible. They were \Y. G. Rao (27). C. E. Hodge (25). W. E Grant (21), I. Lomiis (22), J. Barrett (22), I°. E. McKenzie (21) nnd W. C. Whitney (21). In the shoot-off each went hnck a yard each shot, the match being eventunlly divided by W. G. Kne (20), \V E. Grant <2G), F. E. McKenzie (23) and W. C. Whitney (23). ' A seven-bird clny match was won outright by F. Hazard (15yds), with the possible. A. E. Maeredio (19) and B, Hannigan (10) tied for second with six kills, the former winning the slioot-off. A' pleasing feature of the day's shooting was the return to form of Messrs. Rae, Grant and McKenzie, each of whom shot splendidly, tho first two not missing a bird on the day. Among tho younger shooters good form wns shown by Messrs. Whitney, Fail-ley and Barrett. Mr. W. E. Grants trophy will bo competed for next month. The next matches will bo held on November 24.
