SHIP TO BE MANNED.
DISPUTE ON WAIKOUAITI. SEAMEN'S ATTITUDE CHANGED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 CIIRISTCHURCH, Thursday. * After refusing to man the Unicn Steam Ship Companys vessel Waikouait; since September 20, and causing the vestcl to bo held up in Lyttelton since that time, tho Seamen's Union has agreed to fall in with tho wishes of the company and mao the ship. Tho non-engagement of foui firemen and ono greaser, to whom the engineers and the company took exception, is now acceptable to tho union.
Tho difficulty now is that tho Waikouaiti will still bo held up indefinitely, as she has lost her trade. This will affect about 40 men, who already have been out of work since September 20.
