TWO MEN CONVICTED.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT."] HAMILTON, Thursday. Two men, Robert Cleery and Walter Clark, each aged 28, pleaded guilty beforo Messrs. A. E. Manning and B. 0. Lowry, J.IVs, in tho Magistrate's Court to-day to a charge of incurring car hiro to tho valuo of 17s 6d by fraud. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said both men entered a service car at Rotorua to-day, and travelled to Hamilton. They did not intimate to tho driver until they left the car that they had no money and when the driver was temporarily engaged they decamped. Tho polico wero informed and tho accused wero later arrested. In tho meantime, however, someone else had paid their fares. They wero convicted and discharged.
