ATHENIAN CLUB.

FANCY-DRESS DANCE. The Athenian Club held a fancy-dress danco at tho Orange Hall last evening, arid as it was tho last of their entertainments for this season a largo number of members and visitors were present. 'The hall, with its decorative scheme of gaily-coloured streamers, made an- attractive background for the original and effective costumes that were worn. People of all nations and from different centuries danced to the excellent music which was provided by Clark's Dance Orchestra. The ladies' committee, with Mrs. P. Free and Mrs. Trask as organisers, had worked hard to make the evening the success which it proved to be. Tho supper tables, which were downstairs, were decorated with tho club colours of blue and yellow. Iceland poppies were artistically arranged in tall vases on the tables, which were banded with latticed streamers in the same shades.
