EXTENSION TO DARG AVI LLE. QUESTION OF THE ROUTE. [EY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DARGAVILLE, Friday. Mr. fi. I! Sterling, general manager of railways, accompanied by several railway officials, arrived in Dargavillo to-day to copier with the citizens regarding the route of the extension of the North Auckland Alain Trunk line to Dargaville, and the site of the new railway station. Theio are three proposed routes and sites. The one which is most favoured by the Railways Department would add several level crossings lo tile three already in the town. The citizens are most concerned about the level crossings and are asking that they be avoided as much as possiblo. The location of the station is net a matter which gives them much concern, as the proposed sites are all to the town. Mr. Sterling was shown over the proposed route 3 to day and he conforred with the citizens on the subject at a public meeting to-night. 110 will return to Auckland to-morrow.
