SUMMER TIME-TABLE.

IMPROVEMENTS ON RAILWAY.

DAYLIGHT LIMITED TO RUN.

INWARD STOP AT NEWMARKET.

Tlio summer time-table for the NewZealand railways will como into operation on December 2. On that day the daylight limited expross between Auckland and Wellington will bo reintroduced, commencing its running a fortnight earlier than last year. There should be general satisfaction in tho decision of the Railway Department to abolish all restrictions in tho reservation of seals on the expresses. Hitherto no seat could bo booked unless the passenger procured a ticket for a journey of 100 miles or more. This frequently irksome limit will be jettisoned on and after next Monday, when all seats in tho Rotorua, Tauranga, Whangarei and other expresses may bo booked for short distances. Seats, for instance, can be reserved on the night expresses to Frankton.

Under tho new time-table commencing December 2 tho daylight limited will leave Auckland at 7.53 a.m. every day except Sunday, arriving at Wellington at 11.10 p.m. Tho daylight limited • from Wellington will take its departure at 7.52 a.m., leave Frankton Junction at 8.36 p.m., and arrive at Auckland at 11.6 p.m. This is four minutes later than last year, the difference being occupied by a new stop at Newmarket, which will bo welcomed by all those passengers desiring to catch late trams for Remuera, Epsom, Onohunga and also suburbs reached via Khyber Pass and the top of Symonds Street.

Instructions havo been given for an extra car to be added to tho limited botween Palmerston North and Wellington in the south, and Frankton and Auckland in the north, when tho traffic warrants. This will relievo the awkward position in which many intending passengers have been placed in tho past in finding it impossible to board tho overcrowded limited at intervening stations. Tho decision to stop tho ordinary Auckland-Wellington express at Pukekoho will necessitate tho train leaving Auckland at 7.40 p.m. each night, instead of 7.45. The train already stops at Pukekohe on Sundays. The concession will now be extended to week-nights. There will be some minor alterations. Tho present 7.13 p.m. train to Papakura will leave instead at 7.12, and will arrive at Papakura at 8.16, instead of 8.19 p.m. The train leaving Papakura at 7.50 p.m. on Sundays will instead leave at 7.48 p.m., arriving in tho city at 8.55 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. Tho 1.50 p.m. train from Frankton to Rotorua will leave Mornnsville at 3 p.m. instead of 3.10 p.m., Matamata at 4.15 instead of 4.30. and Putannu at 5.29 instead of 6.21, arriving at Rotorua at 7.55 p.m. instead of 8.34 p.m.
