BAPTISMAL FONT.

MEMORIAL AT ST. DAVID'S. In memory of Mrs. Fetor Robertson, a handsome marble baptismal font was dedicated in St. David's Presbyterian Church at a special service yesterday morning. The la to Mrs. Robertson arrived in New Zealand on October 10, 1842, and with her husband, who arrived in the following year, was 0110 of the earliest members of St. David's Church. The font is the gift of her daughter. Miss Susan Robertson, who unveiled it prior to its dedication in the presence of a large congregation. The, service was conducted bv the Rev. 1. E. Bertram and special seats were occupied by young Sunday school children and by girls of St. Cuthbert's College. In his address to the young people Mr. Bertram explained the nature and meaning of tho sacrament of baptism and tho spiritual truth that it expresses. The font bears a silver plate, on which is recorded tho occasion of the gift and tho words of Mark x., 16: "And 110 took them up in Ilis arms and put His hands upon them and blessed them." Tho gratitude of tho congregation to Miss Robertson has been suitably expressed in a. minute of appreciation which was read, during yesterday's service.
