The dance ball afc Newmarket- was resplendent with new decorations and brightly coloured lamp shades, on Saturday evening, and a large number of guests enjoyed the dancing. A special feature of the evening was " Marimba," played by Mr. Corrigan, recently from America, Honolulu and Suva, assisted by Mr. Alan Brown, which proved very popular and was given two encores. Among those present were Miss Quayle, who wore a moonlight chenille frock trimmed with tiny diamante stars; Miss Caldow, mauve georgette with skirt of tjuy frills; Miss J. Ectherham, cyclamen taffeta: Miss Ashtou, lace over coral pink satin; Miss Lois Mahon, figured satin; Miss K. Menzies, ivory embroidered georgette; Miss L. Gordon, jade green georgette trimmed with silver lace; Miss N. Harrop, shell pink georgette and pointed hem, with blue shawl; Miss Moira Crandall, cherry satin; Miss Heather Crandall, primrose yellow georgette; Miss McElrov, primrose satin with diamante relief and gold lace shawl; Miss Snisted, gold panne velvet and black tulle, with diamante girdle. Miss 0. Kent wore salmon pink beaded georgette; Miss A. Boyce, ivory georgette with posy at shoulder; Miss V. Williams, delphinium blue georgette and taffeta with diamante trimming; Miss V. Fox, shell pink and black georgette with diamante relief; Miss Summerville, apricot- georgette and satin with uneven hem; Miss Singer, jade green georgette with tulle bow; Miss Doherty, eau do nil georgette and silver tissue relief; Miss Merydith, sunset taffeta and silver lace; Miss O'Connor, powder blue taffeta with shaded frilled skirt; Miss Gait, coral pink sequin frock; Miss Smith, pale blue georgette with fringed skirt and gold lace trimming; Miss P. Ford, black lace over shell pink, with diamante relief; Miss Madelon Gaspara, flame georgette and diamante relief; Miss P. Barker, cerise satin beaute and tinsel tissue; Miss R. Mitchell, black ring velvet trimmed with sequins. Miss Allison was in rose taffeta trimmed with Oriental lace; Miss Donna Massey, ivory taffeta trimmed with diamante; Miss Rone Cosgrave, cyclamen taffeta with silver relief; Miss E. Mason, lilac taffeta with shoulder posy; Miss Reynolds, sequin georgette with shoulder posy; Miss Anderson, cherry ring velvet with uneven hem and flower at shoulder; Miss Graham, shell pink georgette trimmed with silver laco with peaked skirt; Miss Conway, air force blue taffeta trimmed with silver lace; Miss Potter, apricot taffeta and silver lace; Miss Clifford, cerise georgette trimmed with silver sequin embroidery, uneven hem and flower at shoulder; Mrs. David Scrimshaw. French frock and eau de nil shawl; Miss S. Bureher, primrose georgette and blue taffeta with French bow: Miss B. Barry, shell pink crepe de chine overdress, with cream lace; Miss A. Lewis, gold lame and old rose tulle skirt with uneven hem; Miss E. Ellis. Nile green taffeta trimmed with silver lace.
