WINDOWS AND FLOORS.
A little paint can make a vast improvement to an old house or cottage, and it is quite possible for the novice to house-paint successfully if lie 0/ she will remember how essential it is to prepare the surface properly first. Windows and floors are rather tricky things to deal with, because it is so easy to get paint on to the glass or tlip skirting aud so difficult to get it of! when it is dry. IF a strip of very thin cardboard is laid flat on to a window pane and firmly held close tip to the frame or held flat against tho skirting, neither the window panes or the skirting will be touched by paint.
