Parker took eight wickets for 155. Gloucestershire won by seven wickets. Against Yorkshire Derbyshire in the first innings made 234 (Jackson 85). Leyland took four wickets for 47. In the second they made 199 (Storer 57). Macaulay took five wickets for 76. Yorkshire in the first innings made 485 for eight and declared (Holmes 67, Mitchell 91, Sutcliffc 111, Leyland 149). Worthington took four wickets for 67. Yorkshire won by an innings and 52 runs. Against Hampshire Kent in tho first innings made 363 (Hardingo 64, Ashdown 136), and in the second 120 for two (Deed 71 not out). Hampshire in the first innings made 131 Freeman took six wickets for 57. They followed on and made 350 (Mead 150). Freeman took five wickets for 132. Kent won by eight wickets.

Against Warwickshire Sussex in the first innings made 481 (Bowley 75, Langridge 85, H Parks 127). Warwickshire in the first innings made 308 (Parsons 130. Santall 59). Tate look six wickets for 75. In the second innings they made 345 for six (Groom not out 104, Santall 71 not out). Sussex won on the first innings.

Against Northamptonshire Nottinghamshire in the first innings made 298 (G. Gunn 71). Jupp took seven wickets for 110. In the second innings they made 360 for three and declared (G. Against the West Indies Staffordshire in the first innings mrfde 99 and in the second 181 (Horner 64). The West Indies in the first innings made 159 (Challoner 71) and in the second 123 for two (Challoner 57). The West Indies won by eight wickets.

In the annual match at Lord's against Harrow Eton in the first innings made 126 (Akers-Douglas 42). Robinson took four wickets for 13, and Welch two for threeEton in the second innings made 44 for two. Harrow made 234 (Welch 70 not out). Jelf took four wickets for 48.
