SUCCESSFUL DANCE.

A dance arranged by the Club Aucklandais de L'Alliance Francaise was held at the Click Clack Cabaret last evening. The shaded lights and the gay decorations of the cabaret made a picturesque setting for the dancers, who spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The guests, as they arrived, were received by the French Consul, M. Paul Serre, M. T. S. Ardern, president, and Mrs. Clews, who wore a frock of nattier blue georgette with knifepleated skirt and loose panel embroidered in deep rose, and on her shouldei: uhe wore a spray of beautifully-shaded orchids. Among those who were present were:—Mrs. G. Neerbrant, who was in black brocade; Mrs. Coldham, white crepe de chine, with scalloped hem embroidered in silver beading; Mi:ss Jennings, turquoise blue taffetas, embroidered in design of roses; Mrs. F. J. Bilton, black sequinned georgette; Miss Kirkwood, black gaorgette; Miss J. Kirkwood, cigar brown georgette; Mrs. J. J. Sullivan, French frock of gold lame, and gold georgette inlet with green, silver, and gold embroidery; Miss Bowell, Victorian frock of apricot taffetas and tulle; Miss Crofts, mauvo beaded crepe do chine; Miss Jaffray, white crepe de chine; Miss Neale, cyclamen taffetas petalled frock; Madame Little, white georgette and silver beading; Miss E. Underwood, black beaded georgette; Miss E. Hooker, russet crepe de chine, and gold lace; Miss F. Drier, black ring velvet; Miss J. Dewing, sea-green taffetas and silver trimming; Miss Ethel Hardley, embossed georgette of palest pink, with petalled hem; Miss J. Beale, sky blue pailette; Miss P. Keys, peacock blue ring velvet, trimmed with gold; Miss Van Osselaer, shell-pink crepe de chine; Mis? Fraser, floral georgette; Miss T. Robertson, black crepe do chine, trimmed with gold: Miss Adames, white "georgette; Miss E. Gill, rose georgette, with silver sequinned trimming; Miss Spooner, rose crepe de chine.
