LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
PROSPECTS AT HIKURANGI. [BJT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANG AREI, Monday. A meeting was held at Hikurangi to consider the formation of a Rugby League Club in the township. Fifty-three people were present. It was resolved that a committee make arrangements to meet other clubs in*the district with a. view to getting their support in playing the League codo.
VISIT OF ENGLISH TEAM. TEST MATCH CHRISTCHURCH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The Canterbury Rugby Leacue to-night decided to accept-an offer of a New Zealand League test match, N.Z. versus 1 England, at Monica Park on August 18. The Canterbury League will receive 10 per cent, of the gross gate money.
