RUGBY FOOTBALL.
AUCKLAND REFEREES. A meeting of the Auckland Referees' Association was held last evening, Mr. M. Kronfeld presiding over an attendance of 43 members. A letter was received from the Waipa Rugby Referees' Association asking for a copy of the paper on the "Off-side Rule," prepared by Mr. 1? E. Sutherland. It was decided to comply with the request.
A complaint was made that City and Otahuhu were playing in the same colours. It w. as decided to draw the City Club 3 attention to an agreement made with the Rugby Union regarding its junior teams' col urs.
The appointments' board forwarded a comprehensive report on many of the referees and was heartily thanked for its efforts.
THE TROUBLE AT HIKURANGI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WHANGAREI, Monday. Mr. L. J. Brake, president of the North Auckland Rugby Union, visited Hikurangi on Saturday afternoon when the views ot the Hikurangi Club in connection with the Rugby trouble were placed before him. There was an a ttendance o£ 60. The Hikura.ngi Club was unanimous that before its teams again took part in the competition the minute dealing with language on its ground should be removed from the books of the Whangarei Union.
