ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET.

The fqllowing are the county cricket scores in the matches ended to-day:—■ Playing against Middlesex Yorkshire in the first armings made 479 (Holmes 105, Sutcliffe 73, Oldroyd 103, Mitchell 10.5). Dnrston took seven wickets for 133. Middlesex in fhe first innings made 261 (He'ndren 77; Mac,-inlay four wickets for 45) and followed on and made 130. Rhodes look seven wickets for 39. Yorkshire won by an innings and 88 runs. Against Derbyshire Essex in the first innings made 233 (O'Connor 89, H. Morris 70, Douglas 50) and in the second 330 for seven wickets (O'Connor 91, Nichols 52). Derbyshire in fhe first innings made 552 (Bowden 82, Hutchinson 91, Worthington 133, Slater 54). Derbyshire won on the first, innings.

Against Surrey Lancashire in the first innings made 588 for four wickets (Watson 300 not out, E. Tyldesley 187). Surrey in fhe first innings made 567 (Sandham (retired hurt) 282, Ducat 119). Lancashire won on the first innings. Against Northamptonshire Kent in the first innings made 276 (Woolley 76: Wright four for 55, Jupp four for 67) and in the second 212 for seven (Deed 75, Ashdown 64). Northamptonshire in the first innings made 334 (Bellamy 58, Jupp 94, Timms 82; Freeman four for 62) and in the second 153 (Bellamy 51; Ashdown four for 39, Freeman five for 54). Kent won by three wickets. Against Warwickshire Nottinghamshire in the first innings made 433 (Payton 74, Barratt 55, Whysall 140, S. Staples 59; Mayer five for 100). and in the second 21 for no wickets. Warwickshire in the first innings made 157 (Croom 52) and followed on and made 296 (Bates 59, Wyatt 112). Notts won .by ten wickets.

Playing for Leicestershire against Gloucestershire Dawson made 146. Shipman took five for 32. For Gloucestershire Dipper made 115. Hammond took five for 64 and Parker fivo for 65. Gloucestershire won.

For Sussex against Worcestershire Langridge made 126, Arthur Gilligan 144. Rowley took five for 68, Wensley nine for 53. For Worcestershire Root took six'for 135. Sussex won.

For Somersetshire against Hampshire Rippon made 112, Young 92. Hunt took five for 28 and White six for 35. Somersetshire won. For Durham against West Indies Dobson made 105. For the West Indies St. -Hill made 101. The match was drawn. NEW ZEALAND BOWLERS. MATCH WITH SURREY TEAM. v Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON. Juno 5. A team of Surrey bowlers, including nine English internationals and five county champions, beat the New Zealanders by 141 points to 92. The scores of the New Zealand skips were as follows, their figures being given first: Parker, 21 —20; Ilorton, 16—21; Hutchison, 17—23; Thomson, 9—30; Grant, 10 —26; Carson, 19—21. NEW ZEALAND CRICKETERS. TRIAL FOR CAMBRIDGE TEAM. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. LONDON. June 5. The New Zealandcrs, J. A. Dunning and W. G. Kalaugher, played for the Cambridge University cricket team against Oxfordshire. Dunning got the creditable bowling average of four wickets for 42 runs, in addition to making 27 with the bat. The match was abandoned owing to rain. BOXING IN AMERICA. GRIME WANTING A MATCH.

" Walk " Miller, who now is the boxer Grime's manager, is awaiting the outcome of contests at Newhaven, Connecticut and Youngstown, Ohio, in the expectation of matching Grime with the winner of one ot' these fights in the second week in June. Grime, on Miller's farm, has gained several pounds, and ITis injured side is completely healed. His general condition is reported to be excellent. Miller says he is certain Grime will fight for the world's title before the end of the year. PROFESSIONAL BILLIARDS. McCONACHY IN SYDNEY, SYDNEY. June 6. In the billiards match Lindrum has scored 31,418 (in play) , and McConachy 9835. Lindrum's best breaks were 269, 102, 386, 178. 130, 125 unfinished; McConachy's 298, 290, 169, 135, 124.
