Miss R. M. Scott is an Auckland visitor to Christchurch. Miss Jecn McDougall, of Epsom, is the guest of Mrs. Arthur Duncan, of Wellington. " * Dr. and Mrs. H. G. Denham, of Fendalton, Christchurch, are visiting Auckland. Miss Marshall and Miss McLean, of Whangarei, have left for a visit to England. Mrs. Basil Cadoux is spending a few weeks in Dr. Northcroft's cottage at Cornwallis. Mi?s E. Walton, of England, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Keith Bedlington has left Whangarei to join her husband in the Malay Federated States. Miss T. L. Ferguson, of Tunbridge Wells, is on a visit to Auckland, and is a guest at Cargen. Mrs. James Hay and Mrs. Kenneth Turner are visitors from Christchurch, and are staying at Cargen. Miss Dorothy Ferguson, Bay View Road, Remuera, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. K. Wilson, Te Aroha. Miss Phyllis Franklin, of Stanley Bay, who has been the guest of Mrs. S. H. Rastall, of Wellington, since the Easter holidays, returned to Auckland on Saturday. The Athenian Club held a successful evening at the Operatic Hall, Grafton Road, on Saturday. Contributing to the programme with songs, dances and other items were Professor Maxwell Walker, Miss Brooks, Miss Alma McGruer, Mr. Church and "The Snappy Three." The host and hostess for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. M. Emanuel, who did much to make the occasion a success. The hall had been gaily decorated and an excellent jazz band contributed to the pleasure of the evening.
