HARVEY TERCENTENARY
CELEBRATIONS IN LONDON. KING RECEIVES DELEGATES. (Received March 15, 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY. May 14. His Majesty the King to-day received at Buckingham Palace 100 scientists and doctors from all parts of the world who are in London to honour the tercentenary of Harvey's discovery of the circulation of the blood. Six John Bradford, president of the Royal College of Physicians, in introducing the delegates, mentioned how His Majesty's predecessors had defended Harvey.
In reply the King said he was proud to think that the Rulers of England of that day had recognised Harvey's great gifts and had granted him their patronage and help in his work. They were thus entitled to claim that they had contributed to the benefit of medical science.
