NO PLACE TO GO.
CAROL OF RUMANIA. EXILE STILL IN ENGLAND. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received May 15. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. May 14
After having made a vain final appeal to the Home Office M. Jonescn announced today that the ex-Crown Prince Carol of Rumania will be gone from England before Thursday. Drawn blinds and no sign of the usual limousine at the front door of M. Jonescu's house suggest that Carol is not to leave to-day. A French civil aeroplane circled over the house early this morning but did not land. A very speedy Royal Air Force machine followed immediately.
The real problem seems to be where Carol can go. This is believed to be delaying his departure. It is understood his medical adviser is of the opinion that he is fit to travel, but the members of Carol's entourage are puzzled to know where to find suitable accommodation for him in some country which does not object to his presence. Until this problem has been solved the Home Office will not press the issue. M. Jonescu has now gone to Ostend in search of a haven for his guest.
