SIR ALFRED MOND.
PEERAGE RUMOUR AGAIN. NOT TO CONTEST CARMARTHEN. (Received May 7, 5.29 r.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY. May 6. Sir Alfred Mond announces that he will not again contest the Carmarthen division, for which he now sits in the House of Commons. Rumours have been current that Sir Alfred will be elevated to tho peerage on the King's Birthday. This announcement is regarded as confirming the report. If Sir Alfred becomes a peer there will necessarily be a byelection in Carmarthen.
