The first round of matches in the Auckland Hockey Association's competition , will be played to-morrow. There are 11 senior teams this season, six being in the A section and five in the B. Laiit year's premiers. Somer'ville A, will meet their closest rivals, University A, and should provide the keenest and most spectacular gaime of the afternoon. It may be remembered that these two teams also met on the first Saturday of last season.

The Paterangi Hockey Club, at its ailnua.l meeting, re-elected all last year's officers, and depided to again compete for the EmQßon Cup under the Waipa Hockey A»souiafc.on. If possible two teams from the club will be nominated. The club hue a criidit balance of £5. The Paterangi Ladies' Hockey Club has a credit of £3, and prospects are bright for another successful season. The following officers hare been elected:—Patron, Mr. Geo. Pinch; president, Mrs. C. J.
