"LANGUAGE" IN PLAYS.
Sir, —As one of the several thousands of Aucklanders who have enjoyed the splendid acting of Mr. Maurice Moscovitch and his company in "The Ringer" I feel that J am voicing the opinion of many—may I trust of tho majority—of those who attended the performances when I state that the amount of strong language used, especially in the opening act, appealed to me as being absolutely unnecessary and as cheapening to the performance. In certain characters such language is natural and one does not object to its use in moderation in such cases, but in this performance! the language was at times decidedly forced. Whether the words are used in tha original or not, I believe that, in the eyes of Auckland audiences, at all events, both the actors and the play would have been more appreciated had the unnecessary d s, etc., beeu omitted. J. Keith Ramsat.
