WELCOME TO MAGISTRATE.
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] . TE AWAMUTU. Saturday. Mr. X H. Luxford, S.M., who first practised as a solicitor in Te Awaniutu, presided at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court here oh" Thursday, and opportunity was taken by the local Bar and justices of the peace to extend a welcome to Mr. Luxford, and congratulate him on his elevation to the Bench. Mr. H. Y. Collins, senior member of the Bar in Te Awaniutu, Mr. S. H. Dunkley, on behalf of the justices' of the peace, and Constable P. J. Doyle, on behalf of the police, were the speakers.
